Terms & conditions of sale

Last updated: June 2026

1. Scope

These general terms and conditions of sale govern all sales made through mappyness.com by Mappyness, a sole proprietorship operated by Julien Pinquié (the "Seller"), to any person placing an order (the "Customer"). Placing an order implies full acceptance of these terms, which the Customer acknowledges having read before completing their purchase.

2. Products

Our posters are custom-made to order, according to the Customer's specifications (city, palette, style, size). Product images are representative; the final render may vary slightly depending on the selected location and options.

3. Ordering

No account is required to place an order. An order is placed in several steps: (1) customising the poster in the editor (location, palette, style, size, orientation, titles and labels); (2) adding to cart and reviewing the summary; (3) entering the delivery and billing details and accepting these terms; (4) payment. By completing checkout, the Customer confirms being at least 18 years old and accepts these terms. The order is confirmed once the confirmation email is received. The Customer acknowledges that, as the goods are custom-made, they expressly waive their right of withdrawal (see Article 7).

These terms and the prices may change at any time; the version that applies is the one in force on the date of the order. The contract concluded at the time of the order is archived by the Seller and can be provided to the Customer on request via our contact form.

4. Prices & payment

Prices are shown in euros. VAT not applicable — Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code (basic exemption, "franchise en base").

Payment is processed securely by Stripe. The Seller never has access to payment card details. We accept major credit/debit cards as well as the other payment methods shown at checkout.

5. Production & delivery

Production takes 2–3 business days. Shipping is free. We ship internationally; the list of destinations served and estimated times are shown on our shipping page. Delivery dates are estimates and not guaranteed.

The Customer is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the delivery address provided. The Seller cannot be held liable for delays or delivery failures resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address, or from causes beyond its control.

The risk of loss or damage to the product passes to the Customer when they, or a third party designated by them, take physical possession of the goods.

6. Order cancellation

As posters are custom-made, an order can only be cancelled as long as its production has not yet started. To request a cancellation, contact us as soon as possible via our contact form: if production has not yet started at our print partner, we cancel it and refund you; once production has begun, the order can no longer be cancelled and is shipped.

7. Right of withdrawal

In accordance with Article L221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the Customer's specifications or clearly personalised. As our posters are custom-made, they are excluded from the 14-day right of withdrawal.

This exclusion is without prejudice to the legal guarantees described in Article 8: we will always replace or refund items that arrive damaged or defective.

Independently of any commercial warranty, the Customer benefits from the legal guarantee of conformity (Articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and the guarantee against hidden defects (Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code). These guarantees cannot be excluded by these terms.

  • Damaged in transit: contact us within 14 days of delivery with a photo — we will reprint at no charge.
  • Lost parcel: contact us within 30 days of shipping — we will reship at no charge.
  • Production defect or non-conforming product: contact us within 14 days — we will reprint or refund.
  • Change of mind: as these are custom-made products, returns for a simple change of mind cannot be accepted (see Article 7).

Any claim can be sent via our contact form. We aim to respond within 3 business days.

9. Liability

The Seller has a best-efforts obligation regarding access to the site, the ordering process and shipping.

As posters are personalised by the Customer, the final render may show slight variations from the on-screen preview, in particular in colour (screens and printing do not reproduce colours identically). Such variations do not constitute a defect.

The Seller cannot be held liable for: the Customer's personalisation choices (text, location, colours, size); input errors made by the Customer when ordering; the consequences of an event of force majeure as defined by French case law; or damage related to the use of the internet (service interruption, external intrusion, viruses).

10. Intellectual property

Posters are for personal use only. Resale, reproduction or commercial use of our designs without written permission is prohibited. Map data is provided under the OpenStreetMap Open Database Licence (ODbL).

The Customer is solely responsible for the text and content they enter in the editor. They warrant that they hold the rights to it and that it does not infringe any third-party right or any legal provision, and undertake to indemnify the Seller against any claim in this respect. The Seller reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order containing manifestly unlawful, offensive or infringing content.

11. Mediation and dispute resolution

In accordance with Articles L611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, the Customer has the right to use a consumer mediator free of charge for the amicable resolution of any dispute with the Seller, after first attempting to resolve it directly with the Seller via our contact form.

Competent mediator:

⚠️ To be completed before going live: name, address and website of the consumer mediator.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable resolution, any dispute shall be submitted to the competent French courts.
